IS ANOTHER CYCLE... AGAIN! 🐭

Happy BELATED Chinese New Year, guys!
Haven't been in the mood to update my CNY post. LOL
This year was a very special year as it is the Year of Rat 🐭, which is my year and also our turn to host the Ng Chwee Seng's family gathering.
I was appointed to be the planner since the beginning.
Of course I couldn't do this by myself!
Without the support of my family, I don't think I can deliver the event by myself. #ilovemyfambam

Besides TPC event, this was the second time I led an event.
I was FUCKING NERVOUS, SCARED AND SO MANY THINGS TO WORRY!
Thankfully, I had a bunch of cool cousins and siblings to work together as a team.
Without them, I think I will screwed up the entire event.

Most importantly is our main sponsor(s) which are the adults HAHA!
They supported us financially.
Without their money.... basically everybody can just stay at home.🤣

PLANNING

PROPOSED GAMES

We started planning the event few months before CNY.
With the help of my cousin-in-law and my uncle, we successfully booked the venue at my grandaunt's café.
So we didn't have to worry about the food because the food came together as a package.
Then, we segregated jobs between ourselves.
Jo and I were the emcees;
Joey and Jasmine were in-charged of the games;
The younger siblings and cousins were in-charged of goodie bags;
Aaron was in-charged of photography and videography;
AND OF COURSE...
The adults were in-charged of paying. HAHAHAHAHA!
I think we can startup our own business already coz we have everything.🤣

ACTIVITIES

PREPPED GOODIE BAGS FOR THE GUEST.

Based on our past family gathering experiences, we realised that everyone was just staying in their comfort zone especially my generation.
For the adults, at least they still socialised a bit with their cousins but for my generation, we stayed in our comfort zone.
We didn't really stepped out to talk to our second cousins, AT ALL.
What we did was "HI UNCLE! HI AUNTIE! HAPPY CNY! I AM WHOSE DAUGHTER, NICE TO MEET YOU!".
Not to be surprised, we repeated the same sentence EVERY SINGLE YEAR!
We barely know their names!
We only recognised their faces.🤣

So, we thought hmm, WE DEFINITELY SHOULD MAKE A CHANGE!

Jolene and I were the emcees that night.
In order to make it sounds more fun, I decided to introduce myself with my very broken Hokkien last minute and yes, I AM SO GLAD THAT EVERYONE LAUGHED AT MY HOKKIEN.
I mean, that's the point of making it sounds more fun!

We had two activities that night - Q&A Session and Charades.

Before that, I managed to gather some of my great-grandparents' stories from my uncles and aunts.
During the dinner, we talked a lil bit about our family history and then followed by Q&A session because we don't have enough budget to create a real family tree.
So we just go with whatever resources we had!
We even made our participants to introduce themselves before answering the question so that the other people know them too.
So they got their answers correctly, we gave each of them a goodie bag as a token of appreciation.☺️

After Q&A sesh was done, we continued with Charades.
Glad to see all these participants were having fun because they were forced to act out and let their teammates to guess.
I was very surprised one of my second cousin can act so well.
HE IS REALLY AWESOME!👍🏻
Then we also gave out goodie bags to all the participants as a token of appreciation. HAHAHAHA!
DEMO SESH

THE END OF THE SHOW

The best part of the show is to see all the guests were laughing so hard all the way from the beginning to the end of the show.
I was sooooooooooo glad that everyone enjoyed what we prepped for that night although the café was a lil bit too small to fit 200 people.
I truly appreciated it very much.
But thinking on the good side, it helped everybody to sit closer to each other and bond together because we were forced to talk to each other indirectly.🤞🏻

On the other hand, I guess having a good team is really important and I love my teammates or playmates or partners in crime or whatever you call it!💋
Without them, I don't think the event can be carried out so successfully.
I also want to thank my mum for helping us to get the sweet mandarin oranges, thank my aunt for lending us her portable speaker with a mic and the projector she uses in her tuition centre....
WAH! So many people to thank sial, cannot finish.
I am FUCKING BLESSED!🙆🏽‍♀️

LÉ TEAMMATES.💜

LOL WTH SOMEHOW I LOOK LIKE THOSE MLM TEAM LEADER.

This might also be the last memory we had in my grandma's house because the adults are planning to sell it off since no one is staying there anymore and the house has becoming very old.
Thanks, house!
Thanks for creating so much childhood memories for my uncles and aunts and also US!
Till next time!
